Cool, thanks for the info! 😎
Does this work for the 2023 Honda CRV hybrid as well? Not sure if hybrids need to be handled differently...
No entirely sure on a hybrid, they are quite different.
Its not a very food video. You need to do Just Odor Eliminator and wait a couple days see if the odor returns. Then Apply the conditioner.
Nice bro! Do you still own this car?
Yes I do!
@NightHawkMotors nice! How many miles you have on it now? I have a 2015 EX-L model. It's great!!!
@willieswift9580 just hit 62k still no issues.
Thanks man, you saved me a whole lot of money. The first dealership I called tried to play silly games but the second one was quick to assist me.
Great to hear!
Nice video, thanks. But remember yeild is VERY different than merge. Yield means to "Yield" to oncoming drivers, not "merge" into traffic. I see this mistake happening all the time.
2017 accord sport for sale, this is trash only have 65k miles and rattle like a junk car
paddle shifting is very nice on the sport hatches 2016 to 2021 i believe? very fun doing 2nd gear pulls
Excellent review thanks for sharing your knowledge with the world!
Paddle shifters are for wimps. Stick shift is always the best.
Cool story
Okay 👍
Honda accord cvt is definitely not slow. I have one and it's quick and nice touchy brakes
The Brakes are good, still have factory after 62k
When I drive my 2023 ridgeline and hit the (-) shifter it downshifts to like 3 or 4th gear really whining the motor instead of dropping 1 or 2 gears it jumps alot gears.
The 2023 ridgeline has a different type of transmission entirely. 9 speed automatic.
This is totally new to me. So there is NO pushing a clutch in to change the gear? No chance of stalling the engine out of letting off the clutch too soon? Sorry to sound ignorant here, but again, this is all new to me and I am looking at the newer Accords right now.
The CVT is a belt driven transmission like a snowmobile or side by side. The computer controls the clutch engagement and the pulley ratios. Then these transmissions have programming and paddle shifters that allows you to have simulated (gears) by holding specific predetermined pulley ratios.
It's just for show . It's a cvt no gears to switch back and forth to
Damn bubbu. It ain't a 2017 corvette sting ray or a Rolls Royce phantom lol 😆. Its a nice simple clean and most definitely reliable and dependable vehicle. Unlike others. In my person opinion ,its a nice car. Nice power for being a 4 banger. 💯
Yeah, I was just trying to come-up with some decent points on the video that I think would help others with their buying decisions.
Wow the same thing happened to me yesterday. I had to get towed home and I have run flat tires.
Our Mitsubishi Outlander has this. I just feel like brake pads are alot less expensive to replace than a CVT transmission so other than slowing down without using the brakes I'm not sure I see any other reason to use manual mode. I guess it can be fun if you're bored like he said in the video. Seems to me like it's a good way to mess up your transmission.
The transmission will go through these same motions when accelerating or decelerating. Keeping the fluid changed is a much bigger deal than using these features.
Did u Eva fix this issue ?
Naaa it’s still the same
@@NightHawkMotors damn I change my transmission mounts it clam down a lil I’m going to change the rest and see wassup
Let me know how it works, I checked my mounts and none are torn.
Same thing happened to me. That’s why I am here. 😢
thank you!!
Tqvm
I pretty much have the same car (16 Accord Touring V6 sedan) and it came with the Cont Sports as well and I’ve been using these (Sumis) since my TL before the Accord and every time the road noise starts to creep up. I feel like it starts around 3k-5k miles. Have you noticed this as well? It’s time for me to get new ones and these have gone up a lot. I paid 515 for these a couple years ago and now imma have to shell out closer to $850. I might the get the Hankooks since they are pretty close in price. Big fan of these tires. No issues except for the noise 🤔
Honestly the noise was there when new but went away after they broke in. Maybe a wheel bearing? I had a 2006 tl with bad wheel bearings that were noisy.
@@NightHawkMotors I think it’s probably just a side effect from how they’re made. The bearings on the TL maybe but my Accord has just under 60k miles on it and I put these on at or around 37k miles in late 2021.
What are your thoughts on them now? Thanks!
Love them, great tire. Current 61k miles on the clock and they are perfect
Ty! Sounds like I’ll be getting these 🤙🏼
Es una lastima para mi porque es un carro bonito, trato de no pensar mucho en esas vibraciones.mi próximo auto después de este será un toyota definitivamente es mejor que honda
I have heard that toyota is having some quality issues currently, definitely check out the forums before making a decision.
I have a 2017 Honda Accord with the same problems and I think it is definitely the CVT transmission, it vibrates more when I am stopped at a traffic light, that is, in drive mode.
Agree, I think its the transmission lugging the engine too much while stopped in gear.
Could talk through what your doing like pressing the gas and brake, shifting up, or shifting down ?
I could always do a pedal and pov cam, seems like people love these videos.
@@NightHawkMotors yeah that would be really helpful. There’s a lot of people who don’t know how to use them, but since they are cool people wanna learn
Does it matter if you purchased at a used car dealer?.. Just purchased a 2017 a few weeks ago with this issue.
Good keep it that way .lane assist front end collision braking.
4cyc eng sound, should have got the v6.. could sound better.you got a 4 cycle engine and want it to sound better. V6 is the way to go
Agree with you on this, not to mention it would have a standard auto and probably wouldn’t shake at idle like mine.
I don't agree with this video at all. I have 2 Honda accords. Same engine one is a 6 speed manual and the other is automatic. My six speed manual has more torque than the automatic and it's pretty fast for a four door family sedan. These cars are incredibly reliable. Everything you are complaining about is not that big. A deal. if you want a car that drives like it cost a $100000. Then you should have bought a hundred thousand dollar car. For the price of these cars they are excellent reliable vehicles.
Its slow get over it. And vibrates like a gocart.
@@NightHawkMotors lol sounds like you're the one who needs to get over it. You made a video about it. Do more research next time you buy a car.
@@jameslambeth6763 This video is over 6 years old and you're wasting your time crying to me about it.
a little confusing to me .. be more sure of what yu say ..when and how to use the paddle shifters duh...
What?
Part 2 get deleted?
I would have to check, it is possible I didn’t make it because of poor viewership on this one to be honest.
@@NightHawkMotors fair enough. Bummer though, super interesting theory and test format
@@boost1728 If I have time I will look into it again for you.
A flat turned non repairable blade in my 2 month old tires brought me here.
Your right except the part about recycled water! Car washes dont use recycled or reclaimed water! You have to have friction to clean a car!
Good to know!
Please don’t mount the camera on your head for your next video. It’s making me dizzy.
The good old POV drive video. I can understand that haha
Any rust under your drivers seat and steering shaft? Noticed yesterday while changing the rubber pedals.. driver seat metal looks bad. (Just bought a 21 Accord LX last month).
I will check, my old mustang had all kinds of rust on the interior. Under the dash and seats.
None under the seats that I can see, a slight bit on the metal frame under the dash on the spot welds.
Thanks for the info!
Warm up time might be just for yours unfortunately, mine takes a good 2-5 mins max to warm up.
What year?
@@NightHawkMotors 2016, I had a 2015 last year. Same case for the warm up time, both 4 cyl
You're a weenie
My sincerest appreciation for you taking the time to make this video for others. I just purchased in May 2023 a gently used 2017 E3 4matic with 20,000 miles on it. this is my first snow in Maryland of 4 inches today. I watched your video before I went off to work and felt confident driving in the eco-mode.
Interesting different language US to UK where we would use the highest gear 5 or 6 to keep revs down on fast roads and change down to lower gears for hills or to accelerate from stand still in 1st gear.
I dont like the heated seats
I love them, they still work great.
I have a 2017, just had a cold air intake installed 3 months ago, runs better. I'm happy with it, some people criticize the 17' but i didn't wanna go turbo
Honestly that is why I bought it, the turbo adds more complexity and more cost/potential to break.
@NightHawkMotors Right, I agree, and listening to Scotty kilmer channel that I discovered this year, thank goodness back in 19' well honestly I was trying to watch enough vids on the 18' and 19' Accord, and saw that they were having alot of problems with the turbo engine. So in 19' I decided to look for a 17'
@@jclar7210 Exactly, they were having a thing called gas blow-by which thins the oil and causes multiple issues. 61k on mine and zero issues. How is yours holding up?
@NightHawkMotors Right! I have 42k miles, just had some stuff done this year like the coolant, spark plugs etc, it's great, I like it. When I first got it I liked but at the same time worried about the 19' wheels, because of winter here in the Midwest, but I realized that they hold up good
@@jclar7210 I need to get coolant done, I did the plugs a couple months ago and the CVT fluid. CVT fluid should be done between 40-60k FYI
Is this the same for 2014-2016 crv?
If it has paddle shifters and the 2.4 motor it should be close.
Thank you so much I just called Honda and asked them about that like cause it went out on my car on my hybrid accord 2017 and the guy was like no we don’t cover it’s only three years coverage on those parts and I said wait a second I just saw something online referring to your video and then the guys like oh hold on and he’s like oh yeah you’re right we do covered. Thank God if I didn’t watch your video I would’ve been paying a lot of money so Thank you. I would’ve had no clue and when I called up it doesn’t seem like they would’ve told me.
I did that accidently, trying to put it in neutral to coast while driving, trust me, no electronic protection there!
How fast were you going?
I just called the Honda dealership about this issue. They ran my VIN and said my model wasn't covered. I drive a 2016 Accord LX. Any help would be appreciated.
Really cannot help at this point, I would suggest researching for TSB notices and asking the dealer why they weren't covered.
The service bulletin says 10 years unlimited mileage. static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10159030-0001.pdf
Why did you not purchase the V6 2017 Accord. What did you expect from the same 1.4l turbo that is used on the Civic touring.
The v6 was like an extra 8k not worth the increase in price and all of the extra features. The 2.4l is ok, but has been solid for the 6 years of ownership.
Awesome!. Easy Peasy. Called local Honda Dealership, mentioned Service Bulletin information re: Daytime Running Lights LEDs (DRL) for 2017 Accord Sport referenced by VIN#. Dealership happy to scheduled an appt for replacement. Thanks for the info!
Great to hear! Glad this helped
Anyone know if down shifting with paddles will eventually wear down the transmission? Or affect anything else? Would it be cheaper maintenance and better to just brake and do maintenance on that? Or shifting and potentially worry about the transmission later?
If you will notice you are going down hill, the car will automatically hold the revs higher when braking or while on cruise control to assist with speed control. Just make sure you change your fluid and filter in the transmission between 40-60k miles.
Thanks for sharing confirmed and scheduled.
Glad this helped
